Many young girls in Gendetesfa face challenges that can prevent them from completing their education and reaching their full potential. Teenage pregnancy often ends a girl’s opportunity to stay in school, making it difficult to break the cycle of poverty. Project Hope believes that investing in young women today will strengthen families and transform the village. Project Hope will launch the Girls Leadership Club at the local primary school in 2027.

The club will be open to girls in kindergarten through 8th grade. There young girls can find a safe and encouraging environment where they can develop confidence, strong character, leadership skills, and vision for their future. Through weekly meetings and  mentorship from university-aged women both Muslim and Christian girls will learn valuable leadership skills. Once they have completed the program they get to participate in a life changing year-end summer trip.
